Julien Renard's Riesling Blonde is not a Riesling, as you might expect from the name, but a so-called grape ale or beer-wine hybrid. During production, the beer wort of a Belgian Blonde was fermented together with the Riesling must from the Winninger Göttchesberg. The wild yeasts on the grapes are responsible for the fermentation, which is further intensified by the addition of other yeasts. This tart speciality beer is the result of a joint project with winegrower Julien Renard and beer sommelier Holger Beßlich.
