The 2020er Winninger Spätburgunder Marbleous comes from 70% de-stemmed fruit picked in a prime sector of the Winninger Domgarten (which was classified as dark red on the old taxation maps) and was aged in 2-3-year-old barrique for 24 months before being bottled unfiltered. This brick-red-colored wine offers a truly remarkable nose made of ripe, red-berried fruits, fresh cherry, a hint of fine Asian spices, and just a touch of smoke.
The wine is gorgeously playful and silky yet also beautifully precise on the palate, where the subtle spicy elements from the oak are wrapped into juicy fruits. The finish is intense, deep, long, and again incredibly precise and refined. This is a truly superb Pinot Noir from the Mosel in the making. 2025-2035.
