Kalkmergel Spätburgunder Rotwein trocken 2022

This is a so-called Gutswein. An entry-level quality. Ridiculously good in this class. The 2022 is getting to drink nicely now (Feb '24). Dark-transparent purple-red in colour. On the nose cherry, red berries, a bit of spiciness. Not the absolute finest Spätburgunder from the Palatinate, but one that provides taste and structure at this price range in German pinot noir. Gutswein Spätburgunder can still be too easy and jammy and missing balance between fruit and oak. Great Deidesheimer Spätburgunder in Gutswein class. Chapeau Michael Andres!
