Spätburgunder 2023
Description
For two years now, Martin and Hannes have been working with Spätburgunder.
The focus here is on an independent, ‘German’ style that does not try to be the second Burgundy. Germany has always been quite cool as a wine country, and with rising temperatures, this is increasingly becoming a factor that makes them more unique compared to the rest of the world.
It is exactly this coolness that they want to showcase and celebrate.
Their Pinot Noir is fermented with about 30% whole bunches and only stays on the skins for a short time. No excessive extraction, but light elegance. The result only 11.5% alcohol. A lively wine and with fresh acidity. 11 months on wood and bottled unfiltered, with only a little sulphur added.
